Jehane Boden Spiers was born in Brighton and is the founder of JEHANE Ltd. She is a successful designer and her medium is paper & fabric collage. Her name is pronounced with a soft ‘Je’ as in the French ‘Je suis’ and ‘Hane’ rhyming with ‘Yarn’.
Jehane sold her first designs whilst still a student at Winchester School of Art (1994). Initially working as a designer in Vienna, her designs have sold all over the world for fashion & furnishing textiles, gift-wrap, greeting cards & more
Jehane’s designs have featured on London Underground posters and her retail clients include Liberty of London, English Heritage, the RSC, and Vienna & Sydney Opera Houses. With a string of press accolades, Jehane’s one-off embroideries have sold in galleries nationally. She has given many talks about her artwork including at the V & A.
Jehane has curated her fellow artists’ work since first opening her house for the Brighton Festival in 2002. Jehane’s Artist Open Houses have been described as “A treasure trove of contemporary art” by William Cook (The Spectator).
Jehane is a new member of the Fiveways Artist Group and is curating two venues for May 2018. Her own Open House in Fiveways and “TRIO” in Kemptown.
