She is 5ft exactly and wishes her legs were longer, especially when painting large canvases. Online she is known as @5ftinf with over 400 thousand followers on Instagram and her book about creative practice and finding new ways to look; ‘Conscious Creativity’ was released last year by Leaping Hare Press and Quarto books and is currently on its 6th printing.
Her photography focuses on colour, the seasons, nature, objects, and transient texture; inspired by feeling, rather than meaning, her images often play a large part in her paintings serving as sketchbook-like observations.
Philippa has been part of the Brighton Open Houses since 2004 and has shown work and given talks and workshops at UCL, London, The Orange Tree, Richmond, Taylor St Baristas, Mayfair and Bank, Ten Green Bottles, The iO Gallery, Symposium , ArtatFive Gallery, The Hop Gallery, 35 North Gallery, Illuminum Fragrance, Vogue London, and the Royal Society Summer Exhibition.
She has also been Artist in Residence for Shakespeare’s Globe in London, and exhibited her PerSona Voice Portraits exhibition at the Theatre Royal, Brighton, with photographs by Cambridge Jones.
Her work has been featured on the BBC’s Radio 4 (iPM), World Service, SmArt, The One Show and a Horizon Special ‘Is Seeing Believing’ and has painted and presented at both The Cheltenham Science and Literary Festivals.
